Description
Where is this leak water coming from?
Water leak source investigation analysis package
This package can be used to get a broad idea of the chemical & microbial composition of sampled leak water as an indication of its potential source. The microbial aspect of this analysis is UKAS accredited and as such requires the use of insulated packaging. We will do our best to help you identify the source from the likely possibilities to enable you to carry out further investigations of the originals of the leak water.
Leak + 1 Reference Sample
For this analysis we require two samples, one from the leak water and a reference sample from a likely source such as mains or a stream etc. This allows us to compare the two and work out if they match or if the leak sample is different, if different we can investigate to identify likely source from the chemistry and giving you a breakdown of the water quality. (4 bottles altogether – 2x chemistry 2x micro)
Leak + 2 Reference Samples
Sometimes the potential sources are numerous and you may want to provide two reference samples along with the leak. While the chemistry can be very telling without a reference multiple reference increase the likelihood of matching a source or discounting them altogether. (6 bottles altogether – 3x chemistry 3x micro)

Our water leak analysis makes it easy for you to investigate the potential leak source, you only need to collect the sample and return the sample pack to the Post Office in the Special Delivery return pack included with your order.
This leak water could be from leaking within your basement or garage your ceiling or even springing up in your garden or running down you walls. You may be looking at fresh water due to a period of heavy rains filling up the ground water around your property or even a burst water mains. On the other hand you may be looking to rule out the possibility of sewer water leaking into your home or property. In each case we should be able to give you an idea of the likely source.
Unlike other labs which simply give you results, Feedwater, specialise in solving water related problems so we can explain what the results mean and can provide a full range of services to help you resolve your problem.
Taking your Sample
We include a pre-paid Special Delivery mail bag with your packet, you must be able to get to a post office same day as sampling. If you know this isn’t possible speak to us about our courier collection option (this is at extra charge).
To ensure the sample meets UKAS accreditation we must stress the customer take these steps in its return:
- Freeze gel packs over night and place in insulated box.
- Sample in the morning and take the packet to the Post Office before last collection.
This product requires insulated packaging to prevent the bacterial levels from changing in the post, the insulated packaging is therefore mandatory.
If you bulk order and will be sending samples back individually or in other amounts you will need us to send you individual insulated packages to return the samples. We have insulated packs of differing sizes so you can allocate as many samples as you wish to a single pack all for one price.
It is preferable the sample be taken and posted the same day to arrive within 24 hours to ensure accurate analysis. Samples can be taken Monday to Thursday but not Friday as the lab is not open weekends.
Chemical analysis can take up to 12 days and micro results 3 days.
