Description
Langelier/Ryznar Index Water Analysis
The Langelier Saturation Index calculates the level of saturation of calcium carbonate in water.
The optimal level is 0.0 LSI, though a plus/minus of 0.3 is generally acceptable. A negative LSI indicates the water is undersaturated, meaning the water may potentially be corrosive, dissolving existing scale and attacking unprotected metal.
A positive LSI, on the other hand, indicates oversaturated water, meaning the water could cause scaling and lead to a build-up of calcium deposits.
The Langelier Ryznar Index is often used to test Pool Water, Domestic Systems and Industrial Cooling Water but can be a relevant test in pretty much any water system.
Test includes:
- pH
- Total Dissolved Solids
- Calcium Hardness
- Alkalinity
- Chlorides
- Langelier and Ryznar Index
We ask that the client makes a note of the water temperature reading at the time of sampling provide the lab for additional result accuracy.
