Description
Steam Raising Boiler Water Analysis & Feedwater Analysis
This product gives you the option to test the quality of your steam raising boiler water or your feedwater; your feedwater may be from your hotwell or from your water source in the case of locomotive boilers. For heating system boilers/ closed systems (i.e. non steam-raising) see our closed system water analysis package. Please contact us if you are unsure of which package is most suitable for your system.
Boiler Water Test includes:
- pH
- Total Hardness
- TDS
- Tannin/Sulphite
- M. and P. Alkalinity
- Hydroxide Alkalinity
- Phosphate
Feedwater Analysis Includes:
- pH
- Total Hardness
- TDS
- M. and P. Alkalinity
- Phosphate
- Chloride
Boiler water testing is important to understand the scaling or corrosion potential of the water, to see whether sufficient chemical inhibitor is present and whether there is risk of carryover which can contaminate product if you use live steam or cause corrosion of steam and condensate lines with wet steam.
Recommending Chemical Treatment
As our name suggests Feedwater is a specialist in boiler water treatment, if you are looking to find the most appropriate chemical product to treat your industrial land boiler, locomotive or marine boiler then using your results Feedwater can discuss with you the most appropriate product for both protection and efficiency. Consultancy
After your testing results are known, if you would like to seek expert advice we can arrange for a free site visit by one of our local consultants to discuss optimum boiler treatment and how to reduce your running costs.
Sampling
Boiler water sample point should be flushed prior to taking sample to ensure fresh system water is taken.
Safety precautions should be adhered too if sampling from a sample cooler, if in doubt seek advice.
If your site looks after the treatment of your boiler and you need regular boiler water analysis to ensure effective treatment our boiler water testing sample pack will help achieve this.
Boiler protection is ensured by sufficient inhibitor levels usually sulphite or tannin.
TDS levels give an idea of the efficiency the boiler is running at and testing this can tell you if you are blowing down too much or too little.
Total Hardness should be tested on the softener daily but finding significant volume in the boiler could mean a scale risk. Use our yes no hardness tablets to measure this.
Kits contains:
- 1x 1l sample bottle
- 1x return jiffy bag and pre-paid return label
- 1x Analysis sticker to filled in
Analysis can typically take from 1 – 7 days from receipt of sample, if results are needed urgently please contact us to query turn around time, a surcharge may be applied for samples to be fast tracked.
