Description
Corroban 55 closed system corrosion inhibitor
25Kg drum (Liquid chemical)
Corroban 55 is a high performance low nitrite – molybdate corrosion inhibitor scientifically formulated for the treatment of closed circuit systems including closed chilled water and low pressure heating systems.
Based on a blend of organic and inorganic corrosion inhibitors Corroban 55 is proven to provide superior protection for steel, copper and other non-ferrous metals.
Corroban 55 is a highly efficient formulation providing the ideal treatment for closed chilled water and low pressure heating systems.
IMPORTANT – Corroban 55 is NOT intended for use in systems containing Aluminium.

Application & Dosage Information
Typically Corroban 55 should be dosed at 1.5-2.0 kg/m3 in order to give an active reserve of 55-75mg/L molybdate (as Mo04) and 410-560 mg/l (as NaNO2).
Control limits of 8-10.5 pH and a maximum of 2000mg/l TDS are recommended.
Corroban 55 is typically dosed alongside a biocide such as Biocide ITA Isothiazolone to control bacterial levels in the closed system.
NOTE: Corroban 55 is NOT intended for use in systems containing Aluminium.
It is always advisable to carry out a ‘Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health’ (COSHH) assessment before use.

Other recommendations
In order to control potentially problematic microbial contamination it is recommended for chilled water and LTHW applications that the system is also dosed initially with Biocide ITA at the rate of 200 – 500ml / 1000 litres and that is repeated once every 3 months. The microbial activity (TVC) in the system can be monitored using microbial dipslides.
It is generally recommended that new closed systems are pre-commission cleaned prior to adding a corrosion inhibitor – our product Corrosperse 84 is ideal for this and can also be used to restore heat transfer and flow to older systems.
Chemical addition is made easier using a chemical dosing pot.
