Feedwater are an industry innovator in Chlorine Dioxide
While the industry fawns over the cumbersome and inefficient standard of the ClO2 generator, Feedwater has gone another route, safety concerns and the specialist nature of the ClO2 generator has borne the necessity for true innovation in this area.
Feedwater spent a great deal of time and effort in research and development to come up with a solution to the generator issue, by incorporating a patented new chemistry for producing chlorine dioxide with a precursor chemical and food safe weak acid the company was able to make chlorine dioxide instantly in solution. This gave the potential for the chemical to be reacted instantly and be dosed into the water stream being treated all without the need for reaction chambers with the storage of hazardous ClO2 gas.
By taking out the lengthy reaction period Feedwater was able to simplify the dosing system itself as a huge chunk of the system could be replaced by a single ‘reaction T’. Better focus could be made on primary and back up safety features for a system where the reaction itself was already a huge hazard improvement over the industry standard method of gas storage.
With a simplified chemistry and a simplified system Activ-Ox as it was named could be adapted to a wider range of applications from the smaller office domestics treatment system to the largest industrial treatment plant. The simplicity of the system has also had major advantages to the pricing of the unit making it both a more attractive solution and a much cheaper cost effective solution.
