CORROBAN 28 is a blended liquid treatment based on sulphite which combines the functions of an oxygen scavenger, alkalinity builder and sludge conditioner.
It is intended for use in small steam systems with reliably softened make-up. As with all such treatments it is a compromise and dosage should be set based on the sulphite needs and within reason the alkalinity will find its own reasonable level.
All the components of the product are FDA approved for applications where live steam may come into contact with food.
SPECIFICATION
CORROBAN 28 reacts with oxygen to form products which have no adverse effect on boiler integrity.
One of these products enhances protection against caustic embrittlement.

DOSAGE RATE
CORROBAN 28 should be dosed in relation to dissolved oxygen in the feedwater (which is governed by the feedwater temperature) and the requirement to establish an untreated residual of sulphite in the boiler of approximately 50-100ppm (mg/l) Although for feedwater with a high TDS this may be dropped to 30ppm.
